About me

I am a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), British Cardiac Society, European Cardiac Society and British Heart Rhythm Association. 



I am a full-time consultant cardiologist, working at West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust as lead for electrophysiology.  I also work as part of the highly regarded, internationally recognised arrhythmia team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Hammersmith Hospital.  I am a senior honorary clinical lecturer with Imperial College, London, associated with the National, Heart and Lung Institute.

I am trained in all aspects of general cardiology and have a major subspecialist interest in the investigation and treatment of arrhythmias (heart rhythm disorders), stroke prevention and implantable cardiac devices.  I perform therapeutic cardiac interventions in the form of catheter ablation for arrhythmias, including supraventricular tachycardia, atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia.  I am a fully accredited cardiac device specialist, implanting loop recorders, pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation devices.

I graduated from Guys’, King’s and St. Thomas’ Medical School, London with distinctions in 2000, having already received an intercalated BSc in pharmacology in 1997.  I have a PhD in cardiac electrophysiology, awarded by Imperial College, London in 2010.  My research findings have resulted in a major multicentre clinical trial in robotic ventricular tachycardia ablation as well as the development and investigation of a novel 3D mapping system for ablation of complex arrhythmias (Cardiac Ripple Mapping) which is now in clinical use internationally.

My postgraduate training was predominantly based in London at St. Mary’s and Hammersmith Hospitals with an international visiting fellowship to the Harvard Medical School associated Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, USA.  I continue to pursue my research interests at Imperial College Healthcare.
